"Is my value based only on your perception? Or is your opinion of me not my responsibility?"- says Billie Eilish as per her short film ‘Not My Responsibility’ which she initially disclosed at Miami Concert in March, on Social media. The American singer slammed the body shamers by saying, " Y'all gotta start normalizing real bodies, OK?” after a twitter troll body shamed her. "Not everybody has a wagon behind them, OK? Guts are normal--they're normal. Boobs sag, especially after breastfeeding. Instagram isn't real”. she continues.
Besides, being a singer as well as a songwriter, she is also known for her loose baggy clothing. She was trolled for the same when a user tweeted a photo of the artist in a tank top with shorts captioned, “In 10 months Billie Eilish has developed a mid-30's wine mom body”. The singer apparently responded to this analysis of her appearance on her series of Instagram Stories and posts. Fans believe that Eilish doesn’t deserve to be criticised and have praised her for powerful and direct slamming towards the shamers.
The singer has always been against body shaming and stated once, “I never want the world to know everything about me. I mean, that's why I wear big, baggy clothes – nobody can have an opinion because they haven't seen what's underneath, you know? Nobody can be like, 'Oh, she's slim-thick. She's not slim-thick. She's got a flat ass. She's got a fat ass'. No one can say any of that because they don't know". in 2019 during an advertisement, she said the same in her clip, “Some people use it to shame others, some people use it to shame me”.
