Finding a Job after Graduation

Mansi Kukreja

Most expect that by attending college and graduating they will be able to find a good paying career with benefits in a field that will interest them. It seems that from high school it is drilled into our heads that we must attend college to be successful in life and contribute to our society.

But is it that easy to secure a job of your choice in this competitive world? In order for a college graduate to even have a chance to be selected for a job, they will want to make sure they stand out above the rest. They will need to understand who they are competing against and what they have going for them in order to be remotely competitive.

Due to this, students face tremendous pressure from college, family, peers and due to their own expectations to secure a job. Resulting to mental health issues like anxiety, depression, etc. and also to extremes like suicide.

But is finding a job just after graduating that important??? Hell no!!!!

You have just finished your graduation and you need take a break and enjoy this phase of your life.

You should spend this time with yourself, understand yourself, analyse what you actually want to do instead of just jumping into some random job to satisfy others. Also, you can use this time to work and improve those skills that will help you secure your own dream job.

So, It’s okay! If you don’t have a job in your hand but weeping, crying and stressing yourself is not going to make this better your efforts will. Enjoy this phase. Learn and Explore what you really want and then start running after your dream job.

All the Best Graduates and to be Graduates!
