One of the founder members of BJP and also popularly known as the Rajmata of Gwalior. The special commemorative coin was minted by the Finance Ministry to celebrate the birth centenary of Rajmata.

We will realise this dream with a self-reliant India. Vijaya Raje Scindia was "a witness to India's key political events from independence struggle to decades after the country's independence", PM Modi said. "In the last 60 years, Rajmata Scindia was one of the key political figures who showed the direction. She was a decisive leader and an able administrator. From burning of foreign clothes before the independence to Ram Mandir Andolan, her experience had been vast," he stressed.
The Prime Minister further added that Rajmata Scindia dedicated her life to the future of the nation and renounced all her happiness for the future generations of the country and her life exemplifies that love for the nation and a democratic temperament is all that is needed for serving others.
Enumerating a series of progressive reforms and developments in the country, PM Modi said, Rajmata Scindia would have been happy to see these positive changes. "For the future generations, she had let go of all her comforts. For position or repute, she never chose political power over ideology," PM Modi shared.
