SHOWING YOUR EMOTIONS DOESN’T MAKE YOU WEAK.

We are humans and as humans we are filled with emotions and hiding them doesn’t do us any good. People believe that showing your emotions especially if you’re a man, is a weakness but it’s not. It’s a huge sign of strength and courage because you are willing to show those emotions and not hide them despite of all the stereotypes.

The society we live in has always held on to stigmas. Men are told not to cry or express their emotions because it makes them seem weak or ‘too feminine’ but suppressing their emotions does more harm than good. Men were taught to be strong enough to handle their own emotions, but overtime it has changed. There is nothing more powerful than sharing how you feel and wanting others to know what emotions you are going through. This is a huge sign of strength and courage. This is something that needs to change because no one should have to hide their emotions because of how others perceive them. We need to work together and help one another in this society because we don’t need to tear people down for taking the step and showing courage for sharing their emotions.

We need to create a safe space for people around us to be able to come up and share the kind of emotions they are feeling, rather than making them feel bad about it. Everyone should be free to express their emotions regardless of their gender.
