The election for the U.S Presidential Election will be held on November 3, 2020. The candidates, Donald Trump and Joe Bidden are going head to head in many states. The thing to be viewed is, our Indian Prime Minister Modi has spent crores in marketing via the social media FacBook. Likewise these two candidates had brought their applications in the sense of election point of view.
The situation now is those elections apps have been hacked. The two candidates who have nominated for the upcoming 2020 election, have made many public appearances during their presidential campaigns to reach out to the masses and address their concerns. Trump said on an occasion that his app “cannot be hacked”. Normally, when a guy opposes a thing, we people will move forward to do the same and show we are no way brought lower.
Promon, a Norwegian cybersecurity firm proved the above words are true to our knowledge that they hacked both the elections apps of Trump and Biden. The Vulnerability that was found in those android apps was StrandHogg. It allows the malware to hijack datas and gather information from highly secured apps allowing attacks like phishing.
Promon’s Chief Technology Officer stated absolutely nothing is ‘unhackable’ and even the most secure, high profile accounts are vulnerable should the user fall victim to a phishing attack which seeks usernames and passwords”. He also added, “The claim that ‘nobody gets hacked’ is simply untrue and given the influence of the president can have dangerous impacts on the behavior of hundreds of thousands of people”.
