ESCAPE FROM ALCATRAZ-THE INCREDIBLE PRISON ESCAPE

Escape from Alcatraz is an American prison action film which was directed by Don Siegel in the year 1979. It is an adaptation of the 1963 non-fiction book of the same name by J. Campbell Bruce and dramatizes the 1962 prisoner escape from the maximum-security prison on Alcatraz Island. The film stars Clint Eastwood and features Patrick McGoohan, Fred Ward, Jack Thibeau, and Larry Hankin. Danny Glover appears in his film debut. As mentioned, the movie is based on a true story that is spoken about until now. It is so because it is impossible to escape from Alcatraz prison as the prison is set up on an island that is in the waters of San Francisco. The reason why it is impossible to escape is that the possibilities of escaping are very less as the water temperature is very cold and the currents are very high as it cannot allow anybody to swim over it. But three inmates made that impossible situation a possible one.

Frank Lee Morris (Clint Eastwood) is the main character of the film who plans and executed the prison escape along with two other inmates. Morris was brought to Alcatraz Prison after breaking out of many prisons and small crimes. The warden tells him that Alcatraz is known for its guarantee that is 100% escape-proof and no inmate has successfully escaped from the prison. After a few days of spending time noticing the routine, he starts his plan to escape from prison. He teams up with two other bank robbers whom he had met during a bank heist. Morris gets help from an inmate named “English” who is in charge of the library. English was given two 99-year life sentences back to back after committing a murder. He finds out that every cell has a small ventilation grille and by breaking that we can easily escape from the prison, so he makes some props to execute his plan. Morris along with the other two makes fake heads with the books he had borrowed from English and the hairs which they stole from the barber. Every night after the lights are turned off, they break out of their cells from the ventilation grille and find a route to escape. The warden suddenly feels suspicious about Morris and plans to shift him to a different cell. As Morris knew about this one earlier, he escapes from the prison the day before he was to be shifted. The next day morning the officers find out that there has been an escape and the warden rushes to the shore where he finds a flower by which he concludes that Morris has escaped successfully. This story is a foundation for the latest prison break movies because no other movie was directed before this one. This movie is a perfect choice for the ones who love to watch prison breaking. Also, you would not feel boring as every scene of the movie makes us curious that what happens next.
