DC conseqcutive win under Iyer captaincy

Manoj Prabakaran

The Delhi Capitals defeated RR by 13 runs last night. DC bowlers bowled exceptionally well to defend the target at the end after Jos Buttler and Stokes got off to a blazing start. The South African combo Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada has been a big strength to DC's bowling line up bringing up their experience into play at the death overs especially.

DC scored 161 runs after giving away two quick wickets, DC’s Skipper Iyer and Dhawan put up a 100 run partnership that helped DC to put decent runs on the board. Jofra Archer was the pick of the bowlers from RR. He took two early wickets and ended up 3-19 in his four overs.

Though Jos Buttler and Stokes got off to a blazing start, DC bowlers came back strong to pick wickets at regular intervals. However, the match was not one-sided, RR fought till the end but failed to execute. Ashwin, Nortje, and Rabada bowled tremendously at the end to save DC from defeat.
